Praise the Lord, everybody.

First, let me honor you and thank you for entrusting us with the responsibility of extending your knowledge of God’s Word and giving you an opportunity to more rightly divide the Word of Truth. We do not take it for granted.

There are many Bible schools and theological institutions throughout our city, across our state, across the nation, and even internationally. Since COVID, many of them have made their programs available online. You could have chosen another school, but I honor you for choosing Bethel Bible Institute.

Bethel Bible Institute is one of the oldest Bible training centers in the metropolitan New York area. Throughout the years, one thing we have always endeavored to provide is excellence in theological education. We make the Word of God available to all who want to learn at an affordable rate, giving them an opportunity to learn how to study and research the Scriptures and become more pliable and effective in the hands of the Lord.

Satan does not like people who study the Bible because the weapon you use—the Word of God—becomes more effective in the hands of those who know how to rightly divide the truth. Therefore, Satan will do everything he can to interfere with your ability to study.

But I want to encourage you to stay the course. Once you have established your direction in the Word, stay the course and give God an opportunity to use you in a profound way to encourage the lives of others. My mother used to say, “Sharp tools cut better than dull tools.”

So, we sharpen the tools of our minds and strengthen everything connected to our faith in the Word and promises of God so that we can be effective in doing what God has called us to do.

I want to encourage you to ride out the storms that may come into your life during this academic year. Keep your hand to the plow. We are here to assist you, encourage you, provide opportunities for you to study, and give you the tools you need to be effective in the work of the Lord.

One thing you learn when you begin to study the Word of God is that you never know it all. You become a lifelong learner—a lifelong learner—and that means you will always be in the school of knowledge: reading, studying, researching, and presenting to people everywhere the importance of the Word of God.

I want to encourage you to ride out your storms. Do not allow distractions to deter you. Keep your focus on your studies. At the end of the academic year, you will have completed a module or a number of modules containing lessons that you can apply daily in your life and in the lives of those you encourage with the Word of God.

As we do this together in these closing days of time, we will be effective in altering the course of many people’s lives for the glory of God.

So, hang in there. We are here to help you. We are here to give you what you need. If you are a willing student, we are willing instructors, and together, we will achieve greatness for the Lord.

All you have to do is watch the news or read the newspapers, and you will become acutely aware of the fact that time is winding down and the Lord is coming soon. We must redeem what is left of the time because we are truly living in an evil, wicked, and perverse day.

So, let us be about our Father’s business and glorify God through diligent study and the presentation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
